The European Campaign for Gaza Welcomes the Start of the Ceasefire in the Gaza Strip

Friday, October 10, 2025

The European Campaign for Gaza welcomes the announcement of the ceasefire agreement and the cessation of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, following the horrific genocide, the crippling blockade, and the widespread destruction of human life and property in one of the most heinous crimes in modern history.

While the Campaign appreciates the efforts that led to this agreement, it emphasizes that the ceasefire does not mark the end of the tragedy, but rather the beginning of a new path that must lead to ending the occupation, lifting the blockade, rebuilding what was destroyed by the aggression, and ensuring accountability for perpetrators of war crimes against Palestinian civilians.

The true meaning of peace cannot be achieved unless the ongoing suffering of more than two million people living in inhumane conditions for years is alleviated.

The campaign calls on the international community, primarily the European Union and the United Nations, to monitor the implementation of the agreement, ensure the occupation's compliance with its provisions, support urgent relief and reconstruction efforts, and continue political and legal pressure to end the policy of impunity.

The steadfastness of Gaza, despite two years of genocide and destruction, will remain a testament to the will of an invincible people and a profound belief in the justice of their cause and their right to life, freedom, and dignity on their land.

The European Campaign for Gaza, along with all the free people of the world, will remain a voice supporting this people and bolstering their steadfastness and resilience until freedom, justice, and a just peace are achieved.
