Israeli Piracy Against the Freedom Flotilla is an International Crime Requiring Urgent Action

The European Campaign for Gaza is following with deep concern and utter condemnation the Israeli occupation's new barbaric attack on international activists participating in the Freedom Flotilla. This is a blatant example of maritime piracy that violates the most basic international laws and humanitarian norms.

This Israeli aggression not only targets peaceful activists from around the world, including several European countries, but also represents a direct challenge to the international community and a message of disregard for the laws and norms that guarantee freedom of navigation and the protection of civilians. These activists being attacked are merely free representatives of global humanitarian movements, who came on a purely humanitarian mission aimed at breaking the unjust blockade of Gaza and delivering urgent relief and medical aid to a people who have been suffering under occupation and blockade for many years.

While the European Campaign for Gaza strongly condemns this crime, it affirms its full support for peaceful activists and calls for the following:

The Palestinian people and Arab and Islamic communities, along with supporters of freedom and justice across Europe, should take part in massive public demonstrations to pressure decision-makers and convey the voice of the flotilla and the Gaza issue to global public opinion.

Demand international human rights and legal institutions take immediate action to open investigations and prosecute the occupation leaders for their crimes, including the assault on the Freedom Flotilla participants.

Call on European governments to assume their legal and moral responsibilities toward their citizens participating in the flotilla and take firm measures to ensure their safety and prevent the recurrence of such violations.

Hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the safety of the activists and for the continued bloodshed in Gaza, which has been worsening for more than two years under a stifling blockade and ongoing aggression.

The campaign emphasizes that the international community's continued silence on these crimes constitutes indirect complicity with the occupation and encourages it to continue its violations. Therefore, this moment calls for urgent European and international action to put an end to Israeli arrogance and protect human values and international justice.
